Row Splitter & Bit-Depth Color Lab

Two demos: interlacing an image into a side-by-side pair, and comparing a single 24-bit color to two 12-bit colors.

1. Row Splitter (interlace)

Upload an image. Its even rows (0, 2, 4, …) are rebuilt into the left half and its odd rows (1, 3, 5, …) into the right half, each at half the original height — so one picture becomes two half-height pictures side by side.

Choose an image to begin.

2. 24-bit vs. Two 12-bit Colors

Type up to 24 bits (0s and 1s). Switch modes to see the bits read as one 24-bit color (8 bits each for red, green, blue — 256 levels per channel) or as two separate 12-bit colors (4 bits each for red, green, blue — 16 levels per channel, the first 12 bits and the last 12 bits).
